The aim: fill all nine squares. Each square needs a player who played for the club on its row and the club (or country) on its column. For a country, he must have been born there or played for its national team.
Tap a square, type a name and press Check. Spelling doesn't need to be perfect and a surname is enough. You get 12 guesses for the whole grid, and each player can only be used once.
The daily grid is the same for everyone and changes at midnight. Practice deals a fresh grid whenever you like. Answers come from our hand-checked list of 679 players, so a correct player we haven't checked yet won't count.
The Grid is a football trivia puzzle on a tactics board. Three clubs run down the side and three clubs or countries run across the top. Every square is a question: who played for both? It rewards the deep cuts, the loan spells and the players everyone forgets.
Each daily grid is built so every square has at least two answers in our verified list of 679 players, the same list behind The Connection. Share your score and see who in the group chat knows their football.
