The Connection

Today's matchday quiz

Two clubs. One country. Name the player who links them before the whistle.

1,225 fact-checked connections

Every round pairs two football clubs with one country. Clues land one at a time: tap the big button to reveal Club 2, tap again for the country, building the tension before anyone can answer. Players then race to name a real footballer who has played for both clubs and either was born in that country or has played for its national team.

Verified · Premier League draws from a hand-checked deck of 1,225 real Premier League connections. Pick Easy, Medium or Hard to change how famous the clubs are. Type a name in the answer box to check it, or tap Reveal Answer to see every player in our list who fits. Other correct answers can exist, so treat the list as a backstop, not the only truth.

Wildcard pulls any two clubs worldwide with any country, no answer key, so it runs on the honour system. It's good for football know-it-alls who'll fact-check each other.

Whoever answers first taps their name below to claim the point. Next Round deals a new hand.

Daily gives everyone the same five rounds each day. Type a player for each, with three guesses per round, then share your score.
